The Keller Group’s Recap of our March Poll Results

In March, The Keller Group asked our LinkedIn community a series of questions about hiring trends, candidate perceptions, and what's really driving decision-making in today's market. We highlighted a few of our favorite takeaways from hundreds of responses from candidates and employers below:

• 40% of respondents said too many interview rounds and delayed feedback are the biggest factors slowing down the hiring process

• 38% shared that current employees have the biggest influence on their perception of an employer, followed by online reviews at 29%

• 37% said base salary is the top factor when it comes to accepting a job offer, followed close behind with schedule flexibility at 29%

• 34% said the interview experience shapes a candidate's first impression the most, closely followed by recruiter communication and job descriptions (both at 32%)

• 44% reported that hiring needs are most often driven by backfill or turnover, outweighing growth-related hiring

Bottom line: efficiency and experience matter more than ever. Delays in the hiring process and overly complex interview structures can cost companies top talent, while strong employee advocacy and a positive interview experience can significantly enhance employer brand. Compensation still leads the way in offer acceptance, but flexibility continues playing a major role. As hiring demand is mostly driven by backfills, moving quickly and creating a strong candidate experience can be key in securing the right talent, long-term.
