As the year wraps up and conversations shift toward reflection and gratitude, November offered the perfect opportunity to check in with professionals, job seekers, and hiring teams across our network. Throughout the month, The Keller Group asked our LinkedIn community questions in weekly polls asking what people are prioritizing in their careers and what employers needed most in today’s competitive talent market. From career motivations to Black Friday-inspired hiring “wish lists,” here’s what your responses revealed.
Why Candidates Reach Out to Recruiters
In our first November poll, we asked candidates what the overall ultimate goal is when reaching out to a recruiter and an overwhelming 91% of respondents said that when they reach out to a recruiter, their ultimate goal is to explore new job opportunities. This aligns closely with what our recruiters in Phoenix are seeing in real time: candidates are proactively seeking roles that offer growth, stability, and alignment with their long-term career goals. While networking and market insights still matter, job seekers remain laser-focused on finding their next meaningful opportunity.
What Employers Want Most From a Recruiting Partner
Switching to the client perspective, we asked employers what their top priority is when partnering with a recruitment agency like us. The result? 100% selected filling a hard-to-fill role. As recruiting agencies in Phoenix and across the country know well, competition for specialized talent remains high. Organizations continue turning to recruitment partners who can quickly engage niche skill sets, offer market expertise, and improve time-to-hire without sacrificing quality. Gratitude in the Workplace
In the spirit of November, we wanted to learn what our community was most thankful for this year. The responses highlight meaningful workplace themes:
38% were thankful for finding work-life balance.
38% expressed gratitude for landing a new role or skill.
17% appreciated a supportive team or mentorship.
These results reinforce a common trend: professionals value work environments where they can grow while still protecting their personal well-being. For hiring teams, creating a culture that promotes balance and development remains a critical advantage in attracting and retaining talent. We recapped recent survey results about employee engagement for further insight here.
BFCM, But Make it Hiring
Our final November poll asked hiring teams which “BFCM deal” they would pick first. The clear winner? Unlimited hiring budget - earning 67% of the votes. The runner-up was a pipeline of vetted candidates at 33%.
